Hypothesis: The catch phrase “liberal media” that has been predominantly propagated by the Republican Party and conservative media outlets for at least the past eight years is a misnomer.

When any media outlet reports something that upsets a politician or their constituents, they usually resort to name calling. Liberals tend to merely use the term “the media” as though that alone is a derogatory statement. Conservatives tend to make it a partisan issue.

The media is the unofficial socio-political watchdog – an integral part of the checks and balances. Thus by definition, it is bound to upset one political party or another, from one day to the next, depending on the topic being reported on.
